Detransition?
The Ethics of Understanding & Supporting Clients

A 2 hour intermediate course about detransitioning and detrans clients.

Rarely discussed and highly stigmatized - let's break that pattern and support clients!

The course itself

The media warns you about trans people who "are just going through a phase" or "are doing it for attention" - or some other scandalous dig, especially when someone shares that they are detransitioning. But in reality, there are people who detransition for a variety of reasons. They deserve our support and we ought to know our role and ethics.

If you've ever wondered what you might do if your client detransitioned, there's no better time to prepare to support them. In this course, you'll be hearing real experiences without the pathologizing lens. You will also be brought up-to-date on current literature and research.

In 2 hours, we'll cover:

  • What it means to detransition and why it happens
  • What questions to ask clients
  • Ways to support them
  • Where they can find community
  • Our ethical obligations and duties

Whether your client is contemplating, detransitioning, or detrans, you'll be ready to provide inclusive care!

This course is considered intermediate (see right column for specifics.)
